Bridge Talk - August 2007

Hello friends, I have been thinking how life can really get stressful and almost overwhelming. Our busy schedules, lack of sleep and having lots on our minds, not to mention financial stress, cost of living, mortgages and if we are lucky, social lives as well. How do we get ourselves into all this business?!

I am sure all of you can relate to what I'm saying. I had a down day this week where I felt like I just had to have a cry, and boy, what a relief it was to let out all of that tension! I started thinking and was reminded by God, that He is there for every need, nothing is too meaningless or too extravagant for Him. I praise the Lord every day in thanksgiving for all He does for me and all the comfort He gives to me when I am feeling so overwhelmed.

He is my and your comforter in such times; so give it all to Him! Tell Him your fears, frustrations and anxieties. He really does care and wants you to feel loved and at peace. Knowing He is in complete control of my life is a very comforting thing indeed. I encourage you all to press on, but with the helping hand of our Lord.

Yours in Christ,
L. T. (Lorraine)

"In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry." (Jonah 2:2 NIV)

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 NIV)
