Bridge Talk - January 2009

This month Bridges Community Fellowship is beginning a sermon series on controversial issues. What does the Bible say about some of the most heated and debated topics?

The world absolutely hates some of things the Bible says. It also hates a lot of things that misguided Christians say, but that can't really be found in the Bible. In controversial issues, we need to make sure we're taking stands where we need to, but not causing offense where we don't need to. So what does the Bible really say on these matters?

Most of those issues and a whole bunch of other issues are controversial within Christianity, let alone between Christians and the world. Why do some church traditions do and say certain things which others don't? How important are these issues? How can there be just one "body of Christ" if so many different churches teach and practice so many different things?

To start the series, Larry will be speaking in the first Sunday of the year, 4 January 2009, about Christian unity. What does the Bible require of us in the way of being one people serving one Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father? Where are free to disagree? Where are we not? How should we behave when we do disagree?

Please attend as regularly as you can. The Bible is here because God wants to speak to us. Let's listen together.
